Had a great 2 days with you John. Thanks for your help in getting us around and showing something of your great city.

My husband and I returned from Beijing few weeks ago, and we had a wonderful 8 days. After a great deal of research and reading many posts on Tripadvisor, we decided to go to Mutianyu area of the Great Wall. On several tripadvisor forums, a great number of people had suggested John so we visited his website and took everyone’s advice and contacted John. John replied to our email very promptly, actually within less than 24 hours and gave us a quotation. After exchanging few emails, we agreed on a time/date and price, and on the day of the visit, at the exact promised time, John called our hotel room from the Hotel Lobby saying he was downstairs. His car was brand new, air-conditioned and he even has English guide books and magazines in the car to keep the tourist busy during the ride, but if I were you, I would just enjoy the scenery because passing by small villages is a wonderful site. John himself is a gentleman, he is friendly and kind and best of all he loves what he does and is great at it. I learned more about the Chinese culture from him and our conversation than I did in an entire week in Beijing. Although he is very humble about his English skills, I think he was one of the few people we met in Beijing who spoke English so fluently. When we got to the Great Wall he parked the car and came all the way with us until we had our tickets, he gave us great advice on which routs to go if we want a great view and good photo opportunity. When we came down from the Great Wall, he was waiting for us downstairs and even told us how to bargain with the vendors, which was a great tip. We returned to our hotel relaxed and happy. I must also add that I get very nervous when I am on road while traveling, but John was a a good and captious driver and I really felt safe in his car, besides the roads are brand new and in great shape.

We were so glad we went to the Great Wall with John because I have heard so many people complain about taking tour busses and not having enough time, so we thank everyone for recommending him and want to recommend him to anyone who is planning to go to the Great Wall or any other sites around Beijing….you’ll love it!!!

We were lucky to have booked one day with John on April 13, 2008 who drove us to the Great Wall Mutianyu section and Hongluo temple. John is an experienced English-speaking Beijing driver with very warm and pleasing personality. He makes sure his guests are safe and happy during the trip. He is also very accomodating to your requests and flexible to tailor your trip according to what you want. He accompanied us for lunch to a very tasty and sumptuous meal with "donkey meat" which I must say, was GOOD! I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a private driver in Beijing.

My family (husband and two children) were just in Beijing in March 2008. We were fortunate to be able to book John for one day to take us to the Great Wall at Mutianyu and the Summer Palace. John is GREAT! I've already posted several favorable recommendations for John on www.tripadvisor.com in the Beijing forum, but just wanted to add my favorable recommendation here too. We give John our VERY highest recommendation! He is a very careful and safe driver, very knowledgeable, speaks English extremely well, knows the city very well, and is just a delightful person! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with him. He really was fun and interesting to talk to- we felt like we really learned a lot about the city from him and he added so much to our enjoyment of our trip. We will definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a great driver in Beijing. His car is very nice and roomy- it was plenty big enough for John and our family of four people, including my husband who is 6'5" tall, my 6 foot tall son, and my other son who is about 5'10", and myself (5'2")
