I booked a trip with John to Mutianyu because of all the positive comments on the web. It was exactly as described: good driver, good English, open for suggestions, ...
Over all it was a fun trip and I will certaily use his services again ....

This guy does as he advertises! After some mail conversation he picked us up at 7:00 from the hotel for a drive to the great wall at Mutianyu. The drive was pleasant and John had some nice stories to tell about Beijing, the wall and China. His english is pretty good. And what a pleasant experience it was to be absolutely alone on that part of the wall.
At first we were a bit anxious because we read some bad stories online about someone who calls himself John Ping, but he made it clear over the email that there was nothing to be afraid of. An indeed there wasn't.

If you are in need of a driver in Beijing, I would highly recommend John.
My two friends and I booked a trip on February 1st, 2010 to the Great Wall-Mutianyu and then requested a visit to the Ming Tombs which John readily accomodated.
John is professional, prompt, and courteous. He has a good command of the English language and excellent safe driving skills. His car is roomy and clean; a very enjoyable experience.
Wish you continued success with your business, John. I look forward to seeing you again whenever I return to Beijing.

John made my visit to Beijing relaxing, fun, enriching and memorable. He is a great driver, guide and conversationalist. He picked me up at my hotel at 7:15 a.m. sharp and had me at Mutianyu before 9:00 a.m.. Next he took me to the Dongwu market for high quality genuine silk gifts … at fair prices with no haggling. And then it was off to a very genuine, local dumpling lunch. After all this we were at the airport by 3:00 for my 5:00 flight back to New York … who could ask for more! I would receommend John to everyone visiting Beijing
Also, I cannot recommend enough getting a early start to the Great Wall. Being there by 9:00 a.m. in the off season – January – I had the privilege of an hour walking on the wall before I saw another person ….remarkable!

We were fortunate to have John as our driver last Dec.26. He took us to GW-Mutianyu and to Summer Palace. John is a pleasant individual and accommodating, he can communicate well in English and shares stories about Beijing which are interesting – he shares stories in such a way that makes you feel comfortable with him. Definitely, he is strongly recommended as your tour driver around Beijing and can take you anywhere within the day.

After a hectic couple of weeks I finally have time to drop you a line. Thanks for a wonderful day taking us to the Great Wall & Temple of Heaven. We took some really awesome photos which will always remind us of our time in Beijing.
I can unreservedly recommend you to anyone interested in hiring a driver whilst in Beijing. I've traveled extensively in Asia and with John it was one of the few times you felt that you got your money's worth hiring a car + a driver.
Great job John and have a happy 2010 and Year of the Dragon.
